Now Computer Literacy in 11 Languages:
Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation to offer its flagship IT Literacy programs “MS-CIT” and “MICIT” in 11 languages.
Shri Prithviraj Chavan, Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra released the course in 11 languages viz. Urdu, Telugu, Kannada, Gujarati, Tamil, French, Odia, Indonesian Bahasa, English, Marathi and Hindi. “Now thousands of learners can easily take computer education in their own language”, The Chief Minister said after the release. He expressed that now the technology should aim at taking a quantum leap and receives all instructions using voice, which will further empower our citizens. He also stated that use of technology can now bridge the language divide. The power of knowledge would lead towards economic progress.
Shri Ajit Pawar, Hon. Deputy CM, Shri Rajesh Tope, Hon. Chairman, MKCL and Minister of Higher and Technical Education and Mr D. P. Sawant, Hon. Vice Chairman, MKCL and Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education graced the function with their august presence.
Mr D. P. Sawant, Hon. Vice Chairman, MKCL announced that MKCL’s “Computer Literacy Programs” are currently implemented in Maharashtra, Rajasthan and Saudi Arabia; “Now the Literacy Program will be implemented in Orissa too. Like MKCL, OKCL (Orissa Knowledge Corporation Limited) will be established in collaboration with Government of Orissa and OS-CIT (Orissa State – Certificate in IT) course will be offered in the state of Orissa soon”, added Mr. Sawant.
Shri Dilip Walse Patil, Speaker – Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Dr. Ram Takawale and Dr. Raghunath Mashelkar conveyed best wishes to MKCL using recorded video.
Representatives from 5000 centers of MKCL, Eminent author of MS-CIT book Mr. Timothy O’Leary from Arizona State University, USA, MKCL’s partners in Saudi Arabia, Vice Chancellors from various Universities and dignitaries from various fields were present for the 10th Anniversary Celebrations of MKCL.
Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) will now certify the WAVE programs of MKCL. Shri. Ajit Pawar released the replica of the YCMOU – MKCL Certificate during the ‘Decennial Celebrations’ of MKCL.
MKCL, through its IT Literacy Program, enabled 60 lakh youths of Maharashtra State to undergo computer education. In absence of this program about 40 lakh learners could have missed the opportunity of even touching the computer and becoming IT literate and Digital Citizen. The computer literacy advantage is evident if we compare the computer literacy situation in neighboring and other states of India, said Shri Ajit Pawar.
Shri Rajesh Tope, Chairman, MKCL proudly expressed that, till date MKCL has provided educational services and ‘eSuvidha’ to more than 1.25 lakh students. MKCL has got the powerful network of 5000 Authorized Learning Centers across the state, one will not find any parallel network of 5000 learning centers in the world. He requested Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra to offer more and more responsibilities to MKCL, which will bring more transparency in governance and effective implementation of policies using IT skills of MKCL.
MKCL started Maharashtra Olympiad Movement under the Talent Nurturance Program with a ‘Nobel’ dream to bring ‘Nobel Prize’ in Maharashtra. Students of this Olympiad Movement prepare for various Olympiads which paves the way towards fulfilling the Nobel Dream. Today 11 students who represented India in various Olympiads and one International laurels were felicitated during the event.
